  17.           produces as output a 128-bit "fingerprint" or "message
  18.           digest" of the input.  It is conjectured that it is
  19.           computationally infeasible to produce two messages having
  20.           the same message digest, or to produce any message having a
  21.           given prespecified target message digest.  The MD5 algorithm
  22.           is intended for digital signature applications, where a
  23.           large file must be "compressed" in a secure manner before
  24.           being encrypted with a private (secret) key under a public-
  25.           key cryptosystem such as _R_S_A.
